As human beings, we become too attached to habits, things, people to the point that we feel we can’t do without them.  When we believe we can’t live without something,  we  lose focus on the important things in life.  Lent is a time when we control our attachments by denying ourselves those things we don’t really need and refocusing on what’s really important.
